This is our robot. His name is Swish. He has a long catapult arm which he uses to shoot 3 small green plush balls into one of four targets in the arena. Swish uses a roller at the front to pick up each ball. Each score is worth 2 points. 6th Class were given a robot by VEX IQ which is a robotics company. Every year they host a robot competition and this it is called Rapid Relay and The Heath N.S was picked to participate. It was built by Lucy Ryan, Aisha Riippa, James Tynan, Tom Sheeran, Aidan Hyland and Anna Cushen VEX Robotics Competition takes place on Wednesday 5th February in Ballyroan NS
 Grandparents Day will take place on Wednesday 5th February at 11.30am for Junior and Senior Infants. This is to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. We are really looking forward to welcoming lots of grandparents in on the day.
The annual Parent/Teacher meetings will take place in the week of Monday 27th January.

When: Wednesday 29th January @1pm The Heath National School (Proposing) Vs St. Joseph's National School (Opposing) The school will remain closed tomorrow 6th January due to the inclement weather. The situation will be reassessed tomorrow Monday and parents will be informed with regard to the rest of the week.
The students council are running a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 20th December. The cost is €2 per child  The dates for Christmas Plays are as follows:
Monday 16th December Junior Infants @9.45am 1st Class @10.30am 4th Class @1.30pm Tuesday 17th December 3rd Class @10.00am 2nd Class @1.30pm Wednesday 18th December Senior Infants @9.45am 5th Class @10.30am 6th Class @1.30pm The Parents Council will be providing a Christmas Hamper for each of our Christmas shows. A raffle will take place at each of our shows and raffle tickets will be available on the day The school choir will sing this Sunday 8th December after 9.30am mass in the Heath Church to launch the Christmas crib. The school choir will visit Kilminchy Nursing home on Tuesday 10th December Ensembles Concert - Portlaoise Library - Saturday 2pm featuring The Heath NS Choir. Please arrive at 1.45 - we will sing 3 pieces : Mary's Boy Child, Love Shone Down and Feliz Navidad. NO WORDS - have a look over them before Saturday. |
