We are delighted to be hosting the Eason Spelling Bee Laois County Final on Tuesday March 5th! Our entrant this year is Jill Dennehy from 6th class, who came through very tough competition in our 5th and 6th class in-school spelling bee. If she is successful in the county heat, she could continue to the All-Ireland final. We wish Jill the very best of luck. Spell well, Jill!! The annual Parents Council Table Quiz takes place on Friday 1st March @ 9.30pm in Treacys. All support greatly appreciated.
The school quiz has started and will continue during January and February with a round of questions each week for 1st-6th classes. The quizzes will be divided between 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th and 5th/6th. The quizzes are school, general knowledge and current news based with the aim of making the children more aware of what is occurring around them and in wider society.
Congratulations to our 6th Class Quiz Team who have qualified for the final of the Inaugural Laois Today Quiz. Our school is represented by John O' Hara. Finn Moore and Conall Lalor. They have defeated Holy Family Senior School, Scoil Bhride and Clonaslee and now advance to the final in the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Friday 1st March @11am. Bus will depart @10.30am.
