School closes at 12.30pm on Tuesday 28th June. We hope the pupils and their families have a lovely summer. We look forward to your return on Thursday 1st September at 9am.
Pupils, Parents and Staff, both past and present, gathered together at the Heath National School on Friday 17th June to celebrate the official opening of the new school building. School Principal, Mr. David O' Brien spoke of the huge effort and hard work that had brought about these wonderful new facilities. Fr. Paddy Byrne opened proceedings with a blessing before the ceremonial ribbon was cut by the youngest (Lucy O' Connell)and oldest pupil (Daniel Daly) in the school. The celebrations continued with the raising of the school's newly acquired green flag by the members of the green schools committee alongside their teacher Ms. Róisín Ging. Also on display was a beautiful mural, painted by past pupil Aisling Hennessy, representing a year in the life of the Heath N.S. Finally, Deputy Principal, Michael Dowling presented a time capsule which is to be buried on the school grounds for the next 50 years. The capsule contains a number of photographs and personal mementos from each class which are sure to be of interest to the pupils of the Heath School in 2066! a huge word of thanks to the Parents Council who provided refreshments on the day, and for their continued help and support over the last number of years.
5th Class
5th Class will go to the Watershed and the Reptile Village in Kilkenny on Tuesday 21st June. The bus will leave at 9am sharp and will return at 6.45pm. we hope they have a great day. Sports day and End of Year Mass takes place on Friday 24th June. Their will be a Mass for 6th class and their families at 10am. On Friday. Sports Day will start at 11am for all classes. Parents Council will kindly provide refreshments after mass for parents and family of 6th Class. The Parents Council will provide refreshments for the children during lunch
6th Class will head to Delphi Adventure Centre on Monday 20th June for 2 nights and will return on Wednesday 22nd June. The bus leaves the school at 7.30am on Monday 20th June. Parents collect their children from the train on wednesday at 3.55pm from Portarlington train station. We hope the children have a great time
1st and 2nd Class go on their tour this Thursday 16th June to the Watershed in Kilkenny. The bus leaves the school at 8.50am sharp and will return at 5pm. We hope the children have a great day.
Rounders Final takes place today in the Heath GAA. We hope all the teams have a great day and we wish5th and 6th class students from The Heath the Best of Luck.
Official Opening of the School takes place this Friday at 1 pm. We will raise the Green Flag, Bury a time Capsule. Fr . Paddy Byrne will bless the new School. Parents will receive a School Tour from the Student Council. 1st-6th Class will host various activities in the school and on the pitch. Refreshments are provided by the Parents Council. All are Welcome.
