The school is accepting applications for junior infant enrolment for the school year 2020-2021 during the month of November 2019.

The Boys Football Blitz for 4th/5th class takes place on Thursday 5th December. Times and Venue to be confirmed. Junior Infant parents are invited to school each Thursday morning from 9.00am to 9.30am starting Thursday 7th November to Thursday 28th November to read with their children.
Book Club - Our new Scholastic Book Club is up and running! These books are excellent value and make great presents. Go to http//schools.scholastic.ie/heath-n to browse the latest books and order online. It is hoped that brochures will be delivered and distributed in school. For every €1 spent on this month's book club, our school will earn 25c. Orders can be placed throughout November and no later than November 28th 2019. Each Tuesday at big lunch from 2nd to 5th class are invited to Reading Club in the hall. Bring a book and a cushion! Readathon- Reading Challenge- Read as many book as you can November !!!! Only one sponsorship card to be completed per family please. Dress up Day - Dress as your favourite character - Friday 29th November All classes will be taking part in Paired Reading in school. Lots of other events are organised such as art competitions, book reviews, short story writing etc. Book vouchers will be given as prizes GAA Football Training takes place for 1st and 2nd Class from Monday 11th November for 4 weeks.
Laois Water safety are visiting the school to host A Water Safety Presentation for 3rd and 4th class at 10am on Monday 25th November
Primary School Football Town League 2019/20 takes place on Wednesday 13th November @11.30am in the LOETB Centre of Excellence for 3 weeks for 5th and 6th class girls who did not play in the Cumann na mBunscol Final. Bus leaves at 11am
Next Tuesday 12th November our 5th class will be taking part in a Science Exhibition called "Ironman Engineering" the Science behind the Superhero"at 10.30am.
They will travel to Portlaoise Library by bus and spend the morning immersed in Science and Technology. The cost for the trip is €5. The bus leaves at 10am Portlaoise Library in association with Science Week Ireland is holding a series of events. On 12th November at 10.30am 5th class will learn "How to build an Iron Man suit". They will learn about the science of how to build a real Iron Man suit. The bus will leave at 10am
