FREE Triple P 2 hour Teen Parenting Workshop
For Parents of Teens aged 11-15years Coping with Teenagers’ Emotions. In this session, parents discuss some of the reasons teenagers have emotional reactions and the skills that teens need to calm themselves down. Several positive parenting strategies are introduced to help parents teach their teen to better manage their emotions Tuesday 8th May 10am-12pm Treo Nua Tuesday 15th May 7pm-9pm Portlaoise Education Centre Tuesday 12th June 10am-12pm Treo Nua Tuesday 19th June 7pm-9pm Portlaoise Education Centre Getting Teenagers to Cooperate. During this discussion, parents share some of their experiences and ideas about dealing with non-cooperation and discuss reasons why teenagers can be uncooperative. Several positive parenting strategies are introduced to help parents develop a plan to motivate their teenager to be cooperative at home. This programme looks at · Ways to build a stronger relationship with your teenager · Tips to reduce family conflict · Strategies to manage problem behaviours · Ways to support your teenager to become more independent and to stay safe Wednesday 25th April 10-12md 7pm-9pm Education Centre, Block Road, Portlaoise. FREE Triple P 2 hour Parenting Workshop For Parents of Children 2-10 years Dealing with Disobedience. This workshop provides examples of common forms of disobedience and some reasons why children have difficulty learning to follow instructions. A number of positive parenting strategies are then introduced to help parents develop a personal plan to prevent disobedience, teach their child limits, and also to manage disobedience when necessary. Tuesday 8th May 10am-12pm Treo Nua Tuesday 15th May 7pm-9pm Portlaoise Education Centre Tuesday 12th June 10am-12pm Family Resource Centre Tuesday 19th June 7pm-9pm Portlaoise Education Centre Portlaoise Treo Nua Family Resource Centre, Harpurs Lane, Portlaoise Portlaoise Education Centre, Block Road, Portlaoise Managing Fighting and Aggression In this workshop parents are encouraged to share their experiences of aggressive and destructive behaviour from their children, and discuss some of the reasons children fight. This group covers the skills that children need, to be able to cooperate and get along with others. Parents learn how to teach skills such as sharing, communicating and being gentle. They also prepare plans to manage times when fighting and aggression do occur.
