https://www.mathsweek.ie/2023/. Our school has registered with Maths Week Ireland. We have organised games for the infants with the older classes buddying up to help out. Maths quizzes, maths trails, parents will talk about using maths as part of their job, daily maths riddles and prizes. Our school has also signed up for a free trial of Mathletics. Each student will have their own passcode and teachers can set class and homework for the month of Oct. Finally, we have our annual “Guess How Many Sweets” in the jar. It is €1 for 1 guess or €2 for 3 guesses. There is a junior and senior sweet jar. The student council will be around daily to take guesses. Any money raised will go towards buying new maths resources for our school. Maths Week 2021 is upon us once again and will take place from the 17th-21st of October. Each Class will be doing some extra maths activities this week such as Suduko, Maths Games "Which one doesn't belong" and Maths Trails.
We will also have daily puzzles for the children to solve and hopefully win some prizes. Our annual "Guess the Number of Sweets" in the jar competition is also back. Children can take 1 guess for €1 or 3 guesses for €2 in the hope of winning the sweet jar. There will be one Jar for Junior Infants -2nd Class and another jar for 3rd-6th Class. If you wish to take part in some extra activities with your child at home, you will find some useful resources on www.mathsweek.ie. You could also get your child involved in your shopping trip, baking etc. We hope your child enjoys Maths Week. Our Student Council consists of
