Maths Week 2021 is upon us once again and will take place from the 17th-21st of October. Each Class will be doing some extra maths activities this week such as Suduko, Maths Games "Which one doesn't belong" and Maths Trails.
We will also have daily puzzles for the children to solve and hopefully win some prizes.
Our annual "Guess the Number of Sweets" in the jar competition is also back. Children can take 1 guess for €1 or 3 guesses for €2 in the hope of winning the sweet jar. There will be one Jar for Junior Infants -2nd Class and another jar for 3rd-6th Class.
If you wish to take part in some extra activities with your child at home, you will find some useful resources on www.mathsweek.ie. You could also get your child involved in your shopping trip, baking etc.
We hope your child enjoys Maths Week.

We are very busy at the moment. Every morning we deliver the lunchbag orders to each class
At break time, we act as Yard Helpers on the Junior and Senior Infant Yard. It is so much fun because we get to talk to the younger boys and girls and can play games like "Duck, Duck, Goose" with them.
We have created a Positivity Board in our school corridor. It has positive messages to remind us to always look on the bright side. every week we will go around to each class to see if anyone has positive news to share with the school.
We are also starting a Litter Picking Rota for 5th and 6th class to help keep our school safe and tidy.
Check back on our page to see what we are up to in the Summer Term

Pupils of 4th, 5th and 6th classes are all asked to consider taking part in the Students Council. This year the voice of our students is more important than ever.
If you would like to take part in the election please give your name to your class teacher by tomorrow, Friday.
Next week candidates will make their presentations to class and voting will take place next week on Friday October 9th.
One boy and girl from each class 4th-6th will be elected, with a teachers nomination also. A principal pick will be selected from 6th Class and these 10 pupils will form our students council. Good luck to all
