The school encourages children and parents to get reading for the month. Activities in school will include book swaps, daily challenges, quizzes, an online book fair and paired reading. With regard to the paired reading infant parents will be invited to come in on Thursday mornings from 9.05-9.30 to read with their child.
On 29th November Laois Library will host story time to our Junior and Senior Infants from 9.30am-10.30am. Welcome to Reading month!! To promote engagement with and love of reading we are running a number of initiatives in school during November. We hope that all children will benefit from and enjoy engaging with Reading Month. Reading challenge – Can the pupils read for 50,000 minutes in November?? Through daily DEAR time in school and some reading at home we hope we can reach this massive target. Sponsorships cards are provided and should be returned by Dec 3rd . Only one card per family needs to be returned. The Parents Council are organising a clothing collection from Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th November. Any old clothes can be dropped in bags to the school during these dates. We raised €468.00
Junior and Senior Infants will take a trip to Playtown, Tullamore on Wednesday 15th November. The cost is €18 per child which can be paid online via the Aladdin app
The bus will leave the school at 9.15am and will return between 1pm-1.30pm |
